Katharine Petzold relocated to Easton, MD from Los Angeles, CA where she was recording and touring as a singer-songwriter. Performing as “Kat Parsons”, she was named “Best Female Artist” by the International Acoustic Music Awards and invited to perform in over 20 countries.
Born in Vienna to opera singer Darrell Parsons and recording artist Julie Parsons, she grew up immersed in music, studying piano and later majoring in theatre at Northwestern University.
From the cover of Music Connection magazine, to her appearances on MTV, Parsons’ talent and pure passion has helped nab her coverage in Billboard, Boston Globe, and Washington Post (“a fiery spirit…confident, dynamic songs…”). She has toured across the US, Japan, Europe, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia and has shared the stage with Sara Bareilles, Billy Corgan and Dave Mason among others. Her most recent releases had her recording with T-Bone Burnett (O, Brother Where Art Thou), Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray), Dave Eggar (Coldplay), and Michael Chaves (Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainwright), among others.
As a piano teacher at CCT, she is complimented on her great energy and interest in encouraging her students towards success!
