Georgiann Gibson, soprano, originally from Pittsburgh, PA. attended Duquesne University on a full scholarship as the vocal soloist for the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, a European Folk ensemble.
As a member of the Tamburitzans, she performed throughout the United States and Europe performing 120 shows annually.
A winner in Pittsburgh Concert Society’s Annual competition, Ms. Gibson has performed in numerous recitals and as a soloist for many churches. While in Pittsburgh, she was a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus, and the Pittsburgh Symphony’s chorus of choice, the Mendelssohn Choir, singing under the baton of Lorin Maazel and Andre Previn.
Since moving to the eastern shore she has performed with the Annapolis opera as Annina in Verdi’s La Traviata and also appears as a frequent soloist for the United States Naval Academy.
Most recently she has performed as the soprano soloist with Easton Choral Arts in Messiah and as the soprano soloist in the Mozart Requiem, Mozart Coronation and the Exsultate Jubilate. She was also featured in Christ Church’s Concert Series in a full solo recital.
